Xeomin® and Botox® are both neuromodulators that block signals from nerves that tell a muscle to move and contract. These solutions are made up of purified protein that stops the neurotransmitter acetylcholine from being released, which results in immobilizing the muscle. This immobilizing process allows the muscles to relax, diminishing the appearance of the lines and wrinkles that had been formed by the muscle contraction. Regular treatment can also lead to fewer wrinkles developing over time.​
