After your treatment
Botox & Filler Aftercare
Caring for the treated area in the first day or two helps your results settle in beautifully. This is general guidance; please follow the specific aftercare instructions your provider gives you.
The first few hours
- Stay upright for a few hours after your appointment and avoid lying flat.
- Leave the treated area alone; do not rub, press, or massage it unless your provider tells you to.
- Skip makeup on the area for the rest of the day if your provider recommends it.
- A little redness, swelling, or minor bruising at injection points is common and usually fades quickly.
The first day or two
- Avoid heavy exercise, saunas, and very hot environments for about 24 hours.
- Try to sleep on your back the first night to avoid pressure on the area.
- Use a cool compress gently if you have minor swelling, without pressing hard on the area.
- Be patient with neuromodulators like Botox and Dysport; full results can take up to about two weeks.
