After your treatment
Laser Aftercare (BBL, MOXI & HALO)
Gentle care and sun protection are the keys to a great laser result. Your skin is doing important work in the days after treatment, so be kind to it. This is general guidance; please follow the specific aftercare instructions your provider gives you.
The first 24 to 48 hours
- Cleanse gently with a mild, non-abrasive cleanser and lukewarm water; pat dry rather than rubbing.
- Avoid heat, sweat, hot showers, saunas, and strenuous exercise for about 24 to 48 hours.
- Some redness, warmth, and a sandpaper-like or coffee-ground texture can appear as your skin renews.
- Keep skin comfortable with the gentle moisturizer your provider recommends.
As your skin renews
- Let any flaking or darkened, coffee-ground pigment shed on its own; do not pick, scrub, or exfoliate it.
- Apply a broad-spectrum SPF every day and reapply when you are outdoors.
- Avoid direct sun exposure while your skin is healing and wear a hat outdoors when you can.
- Hold off on retinoids and strong actives until your provider says it is okay to restart them.
Do
- Cleanse gently and keep skin moisturized as your provider recommends.
- Wear broad-spectrum SPF every day and reapply outdoors.
- Let flaking and darkened pigment shed naturally on their own.
- Call us at 727-569-6616 with any concerns, and follow your provider's specific aftercare instructions.
Don’t
- Do not pick, scrub, or exfoliate flaking skin or coffee-ground pigment.
- Do not expose treated skin to heat, sweat, or strenuous exercise for 24 to 48 hours.
- Do not skip sun protection or restart strong actives before your provider clears you.
