What is Fractional Laser?

Also known as: Fractionated Laser, Fractional Resurfacing

A fractional laser treats only a fraction of the skin at a time, leaving healthy tissue between treated zones so the skin heals faster while still boosting collagen and renewal.

A fractional laser works by dividing its energy into many tiny columns, treating only a fraction of the skin's surface in each pass and leaving untouched, healthy skin in between. Those surrounding cells help the treated zones heal more quickly, which means stronger results with less downtime than treating the entire surface at once.

Fractional treatments are used for fine lines, uneven texture, scarring, and sun damage by prompting the skin to renew itself and produce new collagen. At UDERMA, fractional resurfacing is available through Sciton devices such as MOXI and HALO. Your provider matches the intensity to your skin and your downtime preferences.
