What is Hyaluronic-Acid (HA) Filler?
Also known as: HA Filler, Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Filler
An HA filler is a gel made of hyaluronic acid, a sugar the body produces naturally, injected to restore volume, smooth folds, and enhance features like lips and cheeks.
Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers are the most common type of dermal filler. They are made from a smooth gel form of hyaluronic acid, a hydrating substance that the body produces naturally, which makes them well tolerated and reversible. Injected beneath the skin, they add volume to restore fullness to cheeks, soften folds, and define or plump the lips.
A nice feature of HA fillers is flexibility: because the body recognizes the material, an enzyme can be used to dissolve the product if an adjustment is wanted. Results are immediate and typically last several months to over a year depending on the area and product. A skilled injector places them for a natural, balanced result.
